A Charley’s World Visit on Good Day Tampa Bay

What Was on the Table

Our own photo from the day says a lot: Charley sat down with our team, and in front of them were two of our pressed Cubans on Station House trays. The Cuban is a point of pride for us. It is the same sandwich that was crowned the 2025 World’s Best Popular Cuban Sandwich at the International Cuban Sandwich Festival in Ybor City, so it felt right to have it front and center when FOX 13 stopped by.

The Firefighter-Owned Story Behind Station House

If you have visited, you have seen the wall of firefighter helmets over the counter. They are not decoration for decoration’s sake. Station House BBQ is firefighter-owned, started by retired firefighter Anthony Fonseca and his wife Allison. What began with backyard smoke sessions for fellow first responders grew into the shop you see today. That firehouse spirit is baked into everything we do, from the long nights at the smoker to the sandwiches we hand across the counter.

Why a Visit Like This Means So Much

We are a small business growing quickly, and attention like this is not something we take for granted. A spot on Good Day Tampa Bay introduces us to neighbors who have never tried our food, and it reminds the folks who already love us that we are cooking as hard as we can to keep up. We are thankful FOX 13 chose to tell a Tampa small-business story, and thankful for every person who watched and decided to come see us. Moments like this are not the reason we cook, but they sure make the long nights at the smoker feel worth it.

• Friday & Saturday, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM: BBQ.
• Catering: available 24/7.

Our à la carte menu is preorder only, and preorders close at 3:00 PM the day before pickup. Quantities are limited and can sell out, so ordering ahead is the surest way to get what you want.
